Truth With A Capital 'T'
Truth With A Capital âTâ
To the Editor:
The conclusion of the independent investigation of CBS News and fraudulent documents concerning President Bush has left more questions than answers.
It appears that four personnel will be fired for not meeting journalistic standards, but what about the intent of the original CBS article? It was designed to influence the public election! This latest investigation states that Mary Mapes worked in concert with John Kerryâs campaign staff and the Democratic National Committee. Doesnât this collusion violate our election laws? If the public expects that all news organizations have a bias and will follow its agenda in politics, then where does that leave the Truth?
If the public doesnât expect the Truth in politics, then where will you expect it or want it? The Truth is certainly expected from your children, friends, family; how about your doctor, your bank, your boss, your mechanic? If you think about it, you would like the Truth in most areas of your life, so why give a pass on the institution that takes the most money out of your paycheck?
Maybe we should start cherishing the Truth by always capitalizing it, or capitalizing on it.
