State Policy Leaders’ Commitment To Early Childhood: How Do Families Fit In?

Dr Janice Gruendel, senior advisor for Early Childhood to Governor M. Jodi Rell, will lead a seminar on Gov Rell’s efforts to make Connecticut a national model for early childhood education on Tuesday, January 25, at 6:30 pm, at the ECETI Seminar Center, 30 Main Street, Suite R2, in Danbury.

Dr Gruendel will define the challenges and opportunities currently facing Connecticut’s workforce, define the Achievement Gap in learning, explain the role of early childhood education in meeting these challenges, and expand upon what is currently happening in Connecticut legislatively.

“We need to address a set of ‘human capital’ goals for the 21st century,” said Gov Rell. Added Dr Gruendel, “The ‘stars’ to make changes in Connecticut are here; the field of early childhood education must align them now.”

The session is free. To RSVP, call 426-9663. For more information on the seminar, visit www.readysetgrowctkids.org.
