Seminar On Overcoming

‘Disabling Depression’

The Homesteads At Newtown Senior Living Community is hosting a seminar on overcoming “Disabling Depression” on Saturday, January 22, from 9 am to 11 am. Everyone is welcome to attend at no charge.

Do you or someone you love struggle with feelings of sadness, pessimism, hopelessness, apathy, or general fatigue? Have you or someone you know lost interest in work, hobbies, or other activities? Do you struggle with low self-worth, difficult sleeping patterns, or difficulty in focusing your attention? Have you had a change in appetite?

You may not realize how common these problems are in these unsettled times. Learn how to overcome these challenges at the second annual “Disabling Depression” seminar, headed by Rev Jim Solomon and Jean Lubus.

Rev Solomon, formerly an accountant and businessman, is a highly experienced and respected counselor to individuals, married couples, and families. He has developed more than 90 small groups, led by trained volunteers, which met to help people grow, both relationally and spiritually, throughout Fairfield County during his years serving at a large regional church in the area. He now serves as associate minister with Stepney Baptist Church.

Ms Lubus, LPC, LADC, is director of the Christian Counseling Center of Greater Danbury. She has over 21 years of experience working with high-risk children, adults, and families in the greater Danbury area. Ms Lubus also works at Danbury Youth Services as the outreach counselor.

Register by calling Mr Sullivan at 268-9680, ext 2, or e-mailing him at PastorJim@stepneybaptist.org or call Kerry Cardinal at The Homesteads At Newtown at 426-8118. The Homesteads At Newtown is at 166 Mt Pleasant Road (Route 6).
