'Newtown 300' Program Updates
âNewtown 300â Program Updates
The cable television production of Newtown 300, which has been designed to keep Newtowners abreast of events throughout the tercentennial year, continues this month. The programs are scheduled to air Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm and Saturdays at 4:30 pm.
The first programs to air were taped in November.
âWe are trying to interview people involved in the tercentennial events in plenty of time for our viewers and residents to learn about the events and make plans to attend,â said publicist Joanne Greco Rochman, who hosts the cablevision show.
This weekâs episode, airing January 13 and 15, features Bob Tendler and Richard Coopersmith, two will be the auctioneers at the Tercentennial Ball next month.
Next weekâs program, airing January 20 and 22, will address early education in Newtown. Ms Rochmanâs guests will be Newtown residents Caroline Stokes (who taught in a one-room schoolhouse) and Jeane Roberts.
Newtown 300 was created specifically to keep Newtowners aware of the events and activities that are scheduled for Newtownâs Tercentennial year, 2005. The television show, created and produced by Newtowners, will not only keep viewers abreast of what is happening, and about to happen throughout 2005, but it will also feature people with great insight into Newtownâs history.
