BROOKFIELD â Free health seminars on breast cancer and chronic inflammatory pain will be held this month at the Arcadia Health Center, 499 Federal Road. Kenneth R. Hoffman, doctor of acupuncture and specialist in Oriental medicine, will present the programs.
The first seminar, at 7 pm on Tuesday, January 18, will address the increases in the incidence of breast cancer. Dr Hoffman will discuss the use of digital infrared thermal imaging in the early detection of risk factors for breast cancers as well as its other applications in inflammatory conditions.
He will also discuss the factors that set women up for illness and to prevent and maintain optimal health. There will be participatory activities and discussion.
The second seminar, at 7 pm on Tuesday, January 25, covers chronic inflammatory pain and the recent warnings issued by the US Food and Drug Administration for drugs such as Vioxx and Aleve. Dr Hoffman will discuss alternative products and natural healing methods.
