The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury holds Sunday Services at 9 and 11 am in Alumni Hall on the campus of Western Connecticut State University. On Sunday, January 16, Rev Linda Hansen will lead “Worthy of Compassion — Ninety-Nine.” Rev Hansen will explore both sides of the complicated issue of execution, including what our religious heritage may have to teach us about capital punishment, and with the help of a moving poem by Wislawa Szymborska from which the sermon title comes. She hopes that examining this justice issue is a worthy way to honor the Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, whose birth we celebrate this weekend. “Guest at Your Table” boxes will be collected to benefit the UU Service Committee; those who did no’t get a box can write a check.
