An Overwhelming Response

To the Editor:

We’d like to thank all those who have so generously donated to Caroline’s Gift. The overwhelming response of our Newtown neighbors has ensured the existence of Caroline’s Gift as an important charitable resource in our community.

We are all aware of the gaps in medical insurance coverage. For families with sick children, those gaps often lead to impossible choices. In 2004 Caroline’s Gift donated over $6,000 to Newtown families coping with the financial burdens of caring for sick and disabled children. Last year donations to Caroline’s Gift helped purchase specialized medical equipment and helped to defray the cost of treatment for a number of Newtown children.

Caroline’s Gift has been exceptionally fortunate in having Newtown Youth Services’ assistance in administering the fund. We are especially grateful to Anita Arnold of Newtown Youth Services for all her diligence and dedication.
