Residents Sought For Commission Posts

First Selectman Pat Llodra is seeking residents to fill several opening on local appointed boards and commissions. In some cases the appointments are required to be affiliated with a specific political party, while in other cases unaffiliated voters are encouraged to consider serving.

Current openings exist on:

*Board of Ethics, with one vacant position available to a Republican or unaffiliated voter, and another vacant position for a Democrat or unaffiliated voter. The last day to express interest is January 30, with an anticipated appointment date of February 2.

*Commission on Aging, with an alternate position available to any registered voter.

*The Conservation Commission, with three positions available to a Republican or unaffiliated voter and one open position  available to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

*The Design Advisory Board, with one alternate positions available to any registered voter (but no more than one of the same party).

*The Hattertown Historic District, with an alternate position available to a Democrat or unaffiliated voter.

*The Inland Wetlands Commission, with two vacant positions available to either a Republican or unaffiliated voter.

*Sustainable Energy Commission, with two positions open to any registered voter. The last day to express interest is February 13.

In addition, the Cultural Arts Commission, Lake Lillinonah Authority, and Sustainable Energy Commission, each has a position open to any registered voter. The last day to express interest is February 13, with an anticipated appointment date of February 17.
