Robert W. Knapp, 77, of Sandy Hook, died January 9 after a brief illness. He was born March 23, 1936, at his grandparents’ farm in Sandy Hook.

His son Robert D. Knapp, and wife Renee, and their children J.D. and Matthew of Sandy Hook; his daughter Susan D. Knapp and her daughter, Dejah, of St John, US Virgin Islands; and many nephews and nieces survive Mr Knapp. His son William T. Knapp; his brothers James E. and Edward H. Knapp; and his sisters Elaine L. Knapp and a twin that did not survive, predeceased Mr Knapp.

He will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, and family. 

Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, Friday, January 17, from 5 to 8 pm. A service of Holy Eucharist will be celebrated at Christ Church Quaker Farms, 470 Quaker Farms Road (Route 188), Oxford, Saturday, January 18, at 10 am. Interment will be at Zoar Cemetery in Sandy Hook following the service. A reception will follow in the event room at the Newtown Meeting House, Main Street, Newtown.
