The Newtown/Bethel Service Unit of the Salvation Army would like to thank the following volunteers for their efforts on behalf of the Annual Bell Ringing. These individuals and businesses who allowed us to place kettles at their doors realized the amount of $8,291to help the citizens of Newtown!
Businesses: Yankee Wine & Discount Liquor, Dunkinâ Donuts, Walgreens, Blue Colony Diner and Stop & Shop. Also included in this category was the wonderful coverage given to us by The Newtown Bee and its staff.

Thanks also to the Newtown Lions Club for their donation of $1,500 and the Taunton Press for its donation of $1,000.
The Service Unit would like to express its appreciation to Anna Wiedemann and Steve Bennett who took over the leadership of this project this year. Job well done! A special thank you, also, to Phil Lyon, Jillianne Lyon, Greg LaDestro, Caithlin Dowling, Bethany Duboise, Emily Dufner, Sasha Nanavaty and Ryan Moyer for their beautiful music at Stop & Shop
Despite the fact the moneys realized are less than last year, many residents of Newtown will benefit from these efforts.
