Margaret âMargeâ Hildegard Gross Cavaliere, 85, of Trumbull, died peacefully with her family by her side, January 6, at Bridgeport Hospital, following a brief illness. Born October 26, 1926, she was a lifelong resident of Trumbull.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Cavaliere-Fisher, and husband Steve; four brothers, including Jerry Cavaliere, and wife Merilee, of Newtown; two grandchildren, who meant the world to her; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Ben Cavaliere.
Mrs Cavaliere was a 1947 graduate of the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing, working at the hospital for most of her career. She was a cadet nurse during World War II. She was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Long Hill Fire Department and held all of the officer positions over the years. She was also a past member of the Tashua Knolls Womenâs Nine Hole Golf League.
She enjoyed traveling, camping, and skiing in her younger years, and playing bridge and spending time with her family as she got older. She enjoyed cooking and baking, to the delight of her family and friends.
Funeral services took place January 10. Interment was in Long Hill Burial Grounds, Trumbull.
