Camera Club To Cover Equipment Basics,
Host Competition
Flagpole Photographers Camera Club will conduct a photo competition as part of its next meeting on Thursday, January 19. The meeting will begin at 7:30 in the lower meeting room of C.H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street.
There are three categories club members can enter: Assigned Subject (Pets), Open Color, and Open Black & White. Photographers must be a member of the club to enter, but not to attend the meeting. All photos will receive commentary from a neighboring camera club judge.
Light refreshments will be provided. See the club website FlagpolePhotographers.com for photo entry requirements.
The public is also invited to attend a camera basics workshop on Thursday, February 2, at 7:30 pm, at Newtown Congregational Church, 14 West Street.
Do you have a DSLR and are not sure how to use all the buttons? Are you unsure what ISO, aperture, and shutter speed are? Club members will help attendees explore the basic functions of their camera as well as composition basics. All levels from beginner to experienced are welcome, and because it is a hands-on event, attendees should bring their camera.
Flagpole Photographers is a local nonprofit group that enables members to share their images and expertise, to learn and grow in their photography, and to enjoy the camaraderie of fellow photographers. Members are from diverse backgrounds, with photographic skills ranging from beginning novices to professional photographers.
