Spiritual Leader Is Acknowledged By His Young Flock

To The Editor:

Pastor Robert Weiss of St Rose of Lima Parish in Newtown is a man who represents all that is righteous and holy in life. Father Bob in his six years at St Rose has greatly improved our life as the students of St Rose School. He has been a great example of God’s presence, and continues to shine as a symbol of love, kindness, and a life devoted to The Lord.

Father Bob has helped us tremendously with our spirituality, preparing for confirmation, and inspiring us with his wonderful homilies at Mass, as well as speaking to the eighth grade personally during our retreats. Through his influence we hope to gain an even greater understanding of the Mass and a more fulfilling relationship with God. He is constantly encouraging us to continue to develop our faith.

Over the years, Father Bob has showed his kindness and his care to the students of St Rose. We have a great appreciation of his tireless efforts in helping us to live our life to the fullest. In addition to his spiritual leadership, Father Bob is just plain fun. He constantly surprises us with ice cream parties, dress down days, no homework passes, shopping experiences at the boutique, and, best of all, fantastic field trips. In December, Father Bob took the entire eighth grade class to New York City. We are looking forward to Father Bob taking us to Washington, D.C., to visit the Capitol, the National Shrine and participate in the laying of the wreath ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.  We all feel that he encourages us to one day be the Catholic leaders of this country.

Father Bob has taught us honor, respect, responsibility, maturity, and generosity. But most of all he teaches us about  love, a  love for God, for Jesus, for learning and, most of all, for life!
