Mr and Mrs John DiCostanzo, Jr

Emily Elizabeth Wefer, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Wefer of Newtown, and John Joseph DiCostanzo, Jr, son of Sheila and John DiCostanzo, Sr, of Sandy Hook, were married at a Nuptial Mass performed by Rev Robert Weiss at Saint Rose of Lima Church in Newtown on October 1.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown was an ivory satin Oleg Cassini with floral beading of pearls and organza. She carried a bouquet of ivory and pink roses.

Laura C. O'Boyle, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Kristin Scott, college roommate of the bride, was the maid of honor. Lisa DiCostanzo, sister of the groom, and Andrea Lacasky, cousin of the groom, were bridesmaids. All of the attendants wore black satin floor-length gowns and carried multicolored Gerber daisies.

Jada Boggs, second cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.

Patrick Gaynor, high school friend, was Mr DiCostanzo's best man. Brian McNeil and Benjamin Nagy, friends of the groom, and Gerald O'Boyle, brother-in-law of the bride, served as ushers.

Matthew O'Boyle, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

A reception immediately followed the ceremony at Saint Clements Castle in Portland, Conn.

Mrs DiCostanzo, a graduate of Newtown High School, received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vt., and a master's degree in school psychology from Fairfield University. She is the school psychologist at Old Greenwich School in Greenwich.

Mr DiCostanzo is a graduate of Fairfield Preparatory High School and Gibbs College with a degree in computer network operations. He is currently a candidate for a bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Phoenix and is also pursuing a certificate in financial planning from Kaplan University. He is a financial representative with Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in Fairfield.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple resides in Fairfield.
