RSO Will Present ‘Sonic Splendor’

RIDGEFIELD — “Sonic Splendor,” the Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra’s upcoming performance on February 5, will present the orchestra in living color.

Fantasia, Walt Disney’s remarkably daring animation experiment, will be recalled with the program’s first, middle and final selections —Toccata and Fugue by Bach/Stokowski, Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky, and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice by Dukas.

Other magnificent tones and textures will be heard in Franck’s Psyché et Eros, as well as Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.

Sponsored in part by Ridgefield Bank, the performance will begin at 8 pm in the Anne S. Richardson Auditorium at Ridgefield High School, on Route 116. Seating is reserved and tickets — which are $25, $30 and $35 — can be purchased at Ridgefield Music Store or by calling Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra at 203/438-3889.
