Volunteers Needed To Deliver Hope To Local Cancer Patients

WILTON — The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers to help celebrate the arrival of spring and bring hope to cancer patients in their community.

Volunteers are needed for several hours in February and March to help organize and plan the annual Daffodil Days campaign at their work, school, organization, or neighborhood. These individuals will help the society identify local sites to market the daffodils bouquets in February and deliver flowers when they arrive March 19 to 21.

Help is also needed to sort flowers and deliver them to area businesses and cancer treatment centers in Fairfield and Litchfield Counties. Daffodil Days is one of the society’s oldest and most beloved fundraising programs, brightening people’s days with bright yellow bouquets and the knowledge that someone cares.

For more than 30 years, Daffodil Days has enabled people of all ages to join the society’s fight against cancer by raising funds that support groundbreaking cancer research, advocacy initiatives to ensure cancer screenings for all, education efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles, and services that improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

For more information or to volunteer, call 203-563-0740 or 800-ACS-2345 or visit www.cancer.org.
