Volunteers Needed For Homeless Count
Volunteers Needed For Homeless Count
On Tuesday, January 30, hundreds of volunteers will be heading out into local communities for four hours to gather information about people who are homeless in Connecticut.
This point-in-time count of homeless people will help end long-term homelessness in the state.
Volunteers will canvass the following regions: Bridgeport, Bristol, Danbury, Hartford, Manchester, Middlesex County, New Britain, New Haven, New London, Norwalk, Stamford/Greenwich, Litchfield County, Waterbury, and Windham. They will count the number of homeless people they encounter. Most local communities plan to conduct their count between 7 and 9 pm.
Those interested in helping homeless children and adults in their community can sign up by going to CTReachingHome.org. The sign up deadline is Friday, January 26.
The Point in Time Count is being sponsored by the Reaching Home Campaign, Corporation for Supportive Housing and the CT Coalition to End Homelessness.
