Sandy Hook Accident

Police report a two-car accident about 10:40 am January 9, at the intersection of Toddy Hill Road and Berkshire Road in Sandy Hook.

Motorist Jessie Ceccarelli, 76, of 10 Kaechele Drive, who was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala sedan, was traveling northward on Toddy Hill Road, and then attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Berkshire Road, police said.

At that time, motorist Antonia Lombardo, 53, of 40 Cherry Street, who was driving a 1992 Subaru Legacy sedan, was heading eastward on Berkshire Road straight through the intersection, police said. The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Ambulance volunteers transported Lombardo to Danbury Hospital to be checked for a pain complaint, police said. The accident is under investigation.

Warrant

On January 9, police served an arrest warrant against Joseph Pappas, 18, of Augusta, N.J., charging him with second-degree failure to appear in court. The arrest stems from an incident that occurred in 2005. Police released Pappas on $2,500 bail for a January 22 court appearance.
