Itâs Time For Girl Scout Cookie Sales
Girl Scout cookies are here! For six hours on Saturday, January 6, deliveries took place at two different locations for the 624 Girl Scout troops who were fulfilling the orders they had taken in November for the eight different varieties of cookies, which this year are all trans fat-free. The northern delivery site for towns including Newtown took place for the first time at the Cartus facility in Danbury.
In all, volunteers from the community and the Girl Scout Council of Southwestern Connecticutâs local service units directed traffic and loaded nearly half a million boxes of cookies, totaling approximately 400,000 pounds.
For those who missed ordering Girl Scout cookies, there is still time. From January 13 through February 25, there will be weekend booth sales at Dodgingtown Market, Dunkinâ Donuts, Newtown Car Wash, Newtown Hardware, and Stop & Shop where the public may purchase cookies. To learn about select sale times at Lexington Gardens and St Rose of Lima Church, call the Girl Scout Council of Southwestern Connecticut at 203-762-5557, extension 48.
