Ethel Mae Aherns Kennedy

A Kind And Loving Woman

Ethel Mae Ahrens Kennedy, 70, of Naugatuck, died January 6 at Hartford Hospital with her loving family by her side. Born in Bridgeport, she was a lifelong Bridgeport resident until moving to her daughter Lora’s home in Naugatuck five years ago.

Survivors include her daughters, Jane Droniak and her husband, Douglas, of Newtown, and Lora Kennedy of Naugatuck; and five grandchildren, Shannon Neugebauer, Anthony Mazzadra, Kyle, Curtis, and Kevin Droniak. Her daughter, Cindy Kennedy, predeceased her.

Mrs Kennedy was a longtime restaurant waitress including employment at New Colony Diner in Bridgeport and Duchess Diner in Stratford. She enjoyed arts and crafts especially making patchwork quilts and teaching others. She was a kind and loving woman who will be remembered as a person who would do anything for anyone. A beloved mother and grandmother, she took great pride in her grandchildren and adored spending time with them.

Funeral services were held January 10 in the Redgate-Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull. Interment followed in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport.
