Don Kimes Art Slide Lecture
DANBURY â Artist and educator Don Kimes will discuss his work at 11 am Tuesday, January 23, at Western CT State University. The lecture will be in White Hall Viewing Room 1, on White Street/Route 6.
Mr Kimesâ work ranges from realist landscape paintings to large, iconic metal pieces and mixed media collages. He has served as director of the Studio School, chairman of the art department at American University, founder and director of the American University Master of Fine Arts program in Italy, and artistic director of the visual arts at the Chautauqua Institution. In 2004, he received the American University award for âOutstanding Contributions to Academic Development.â
The event will is free and open to the public, and will be presented as part of the universityâs Master of Fine Arts slide lecture series.
