Beatrice “Bea” (DiTroia) Briganti entered into eternal peace on January 7. She was born on April 17, 1935, in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Gerard and Maria DiTroia. She married her best friend and love of her life, Allan, in February 1957 and celebrated 64 loving years together.

She is the loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Linda Andrews, and husband, Gary; sons, Allan and wife, Lauren, Mark and wife, Sherry, and Michael and wife, Laura. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Gramma” to Christina (Colter), Gary Michael (Tahiri), Daniel (Michelle), Nicholas, Ashley (Ben), Kyle, Collin, Justin, Dakota, and Kory; and “Great-Gramma” to Maverick, Cameron, and Owen. She is survived by her sisters, Loretta DelMastro and Gloria Gavignini and husband, Guy, who will miss her vivacious personality and contagious laugh. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and her best friend, Donna Briganti.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her sisters Sue and Esther, and brother Frank.

Bea was a longtime resident of Newtown. She worked at TR Paul for 30 years as an administrative clerk. Besides spending time with her family, she loved her casino trips, playing cards, dancing, Bible studies, and looked forward all year long to her Ocean City family vacations. Her life was an example of her favorite Bible verse, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength,” Philippians 4:13. She was an inspiration to all who had the honor of being touched by her loving and caring ways.

Family and friends, please join us celebrating her life on Friday, January 15, at 10:30 am at St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road, Newtown CT 06470; or Grace Family Church Building Fund, 13 Covered Bridge Road, Newtown CT 06470.
