Support The 2008 HuskyThon
To the Editor:
As the director of public relations for the University of Connecticutâs HuskyThon 2008, I am reaching out to our townâs local businesses and families to make a donation toward UConnâs largest and only 100 percent student-run philanthropy. HuskyThon is an 18-hour dance marathon held to raise money and support for the Connecticut Childrenâs Medical Center and the Childrenâs Miracle Network. This yearâs event will be held from 6 pm February 23 through noon the next day.
HuskyThon began six years ago and has been a success ever since raising over $100,000 to help sick children at the hospital! Though we all may still be recovering from the often hectic and stressful holiday season, this successful fundraising event has been a ray of hope for countless Connecticut families. Growing up in Newtown, I learned the necessity of giving back to the community and making a difference in the lives of others and hope I can share with UConn and CCMC the giving spirit of my town. If you or your local business would like to be a sponsor, please contact me at jessica.budnick@uconn.edu or visit our website at www.huskython.com.
Kind Regards,
Jessica Budnick
