Putting Your Past On Paper: Memoir Writing Workshop At Library
Putting Your Past On Paper:
Memoir Writing Workshop At Library
There is an African proverb that says: âWhen an old man dies, a library burns down.â
Linda Chiara will offer a memoir writing workshop on Tuesday, January 15, from 3 to 4:30 pm, at CH Booth Library, 25 Main Street.
âThink about your ancestors,â Ms Chiara said, âHow wonderful it would be if you could hold in your hands a memoir written by your great-great grandmother. What a treasured family heirloom that would be.
âBut that is not always possible. In most cases when our ancestors passed on, they took their stories with them. Fortunately, this does not have to be the case for future generations. Memoir writing is something anyone can do⦠and everyone should.â
Linda Chiara is a freelance writer who has published more than 100 articles, essays, childrenâs stories, and nonfiction pieces. Her work has appeared in The Christian Science Monitor, Readersâ Digest, Ladiesâ Home Journal, Womanâs Day, and Family Circle, in addition to many parenting magazines. She teaches both privately and for Bethel Continuing Education program.
