Audrey Helen Pitrone, 80, wife of Francis P. Pitrone of Newtown, died January 7 in Danbury Hospital. She was born in Staten Island, N.Y., on August 8, 1927, a daughter of Allen and Margaret (Comrie) Mildrum.
Mrs Pitrone had been a resident of Newtown since 1959 and was a founder of Apex Glass and Aluminum of Sandy Hook.
In addition to her husband of 60 years, Mrs Pitrone is survived by her children, Francis P. Pitrone and his wife, Linda, of Sandy Hook, Margaret J. Oliger and her husband, Gregory, of Newtown, and Barbi J. Yorzinski and her husband, Robert, of Columbia, Md.; three sisters, Margaret Tormey of Katonah, N.Y., Dorothy Morrison of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ruth Heskew of San Antonio, Texas. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Matthew Francis Pitrone, Rebecca Lynn Corcoran and her husband, Matthew, David Cory Yorzinski, Audra Frances Oliger, and Jessica Grace Oliger. Her foster family, Sohka Tut and his wife, Mollyvon, and their son, Edwin James Tut, also survive Mrs Pitrone. A grandson, Paul Yorzinski, predeceased Mrs Pitrone.
Funeral services were held January 10 in Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown. Interment will be in Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring.
