Andrew T. Kitson, 59, of Timber Ridge Road, Middletown, husband of Domenique (Thornton) Kitson, died January 8at home surrounded by his family. Born in Manhattan, he was the son of Joseph J. and Mary R. (Boyle) Kitson and had lived in Newtown for 30 years before moving to Middletown this past September.
Mr Kitson was a Vietnam War hero, receiving three Purple Hearts, one Silver Star, and two Bronze Stars. He was CFO and partner of American Home Partners and was a member of the Waterbury Elks Lodge #265.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his former wife, Barbara Kitson of Newtown; one son, Michael Kitson of New Fairfield; two daughters, Laura Deweese of Newtown and Karen Kitson of Mount Kisco, N.Y.; three brothers, Michael Kitson of Malvern, Penn., Stephen Kitson of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and Denis Kitson of Bronx, N.Y.; one sister, Catherine Smith-Cooper of New Rochelle, N.Y.; and five grandchildren, Christina, Jason, Kiera, Alyssa, and Abigail.
The family would like to thank Hospice and VNA for all that they did for Mr Kitson.
Funeral services will be held at St Pius X Church, Middletown, Saturday, January 12, at 10 am. Interment will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church Street, Middletown, Friday, January 11, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
