ALPHA HOSTS WIXTED

 ewm/lsb set 1/11 #615273

BOSTON, MASS. — The Alpha Gallery, 14 Newbury Street, will host an exhibition of recent paintings by New York-based artist Kevin Wixted through February 2.

Wixted has built his artistic career upon the foundations of ancient architecture. Whether evoking an old Roman wall or an Italian Renaissance dome, architectural elements have been the springboard for Wixted’s own visual invention. Spaces set off by floral patterns lent a sense of abstraction and whimsy to his paintings.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday, 11 am to 5:30 pm. For information, 617-536-4465 or www.alphagallery.com.
