Summer Student Research
The application period is open for Connecticut high school and undergraduate science scholars to apply for summer research opportunities, the National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut has announced. Connecticut medical students may also apply.
Four Connecticut students will receive stipends ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 for supervised laboratory research projects at Connecticut research institutions this summer, according to Gary Disir, MD, research chairman of the foundation.
âOur aim is to interest bright young minds in medical research,â said Dr Disir, of Yale University and the Veteranâs Administration Hospital in West Haven. âWe have been very successful, judging by the quality of applications weâve received in the past.â
The deadline for applications to the Summer Student Research Fellowship is February 15. Interested students who will be at least 17 years of age by June 30 should direct inquiries to the National Kidney Foundation of Connecticut at 800/441-1280.
