John J. Swiatowicz, Sr

John J. Swiatowicz, Sr, 81, of Stamford, died on January 7 at his home, of cardiac arrest. Born in Stamford December 17, 1918, he was the son of the late Thomas and Catherine Swiatowicz.

He was the father of John J. Swiatowicz, Jr, of Newtown.

He had resided in Stamford all his life. He had worked at Yale Towne Manufacturing Company for many years until its closing in 1957 and went on to work for various factories locally until his full retirement in 1982. He was the husband of the late Pearl (Nowakowski) Swiatowicz who died in 1992.

Survivors also include two daughters, Nancy Swiatowicz of Stamford and Lois M. Swiatowicz of Milford; three sisters, Mary Leven and Frances Mulhall, both of Stamford, and Katherine Pernat of East Lyme; a brother, Joseph Swatland of Norwalk; and three grandchildren.

The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, was in charge of arrangements.
