Openings For Color In January
Artists throughout the region are invited to show and sell their work during the 2009 Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) Color in January Art Show and Sale. This yearâs event will return to the high-traffic venue of Lexington Gardens, 32 Church Hill Road, January 24 to February 1.
The exhibit highlights works by members of SCAN, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting fine art and art education in the western Connecticut region.
Artists new to the organization may join for the $20 membership fee at the time of receiving. Membership is open to artists in any town.
Receiving for original work â oils, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, graphics and mixed media â will be Thursday, January 22, between 3 and 6 pm, at Lexington Gardens. The entry fee is $15 for up to three framed pieces; work on stretched canvas with finished edges is also acceptable.
All work is offered for sale and twenty percent of the sales are donated to SCAN.
For information about the exhibit or to find out if receiving is postponed due to inclement weather, contact show chair Pam Reese at 203-938-3999. For a prospectus contact Ms Reese or visit SCANart.org.
