Animal Totems And Spirit Guides

Washington — Join Lupo Connell on Saturday, January 10, from 1 to 2:30 pm, at the Institute for American Indian Studies, 38 Curtis Road, for discussion on animal totems as spirit guides. Admission is $12, $10 for members.

Native American cultures believe in animal totems that serve as guides. Deer, hawks, and foxes, for example, enter and exit a person’s life depending on the tasks or direction lives are headed. Shamans, Native American medicine people, believe the animals carry messages to guide people along spiritual paths.
