AIKEN CENTER FOR THE ARTS ANTIQUES SHOW AND SALE PRE JAN. 31–FEB. 3

ak/gs set 1/9 #724966

AIKEN, S.C. — The ninth annual Antiques in the Heart of Aiken show and sale will be held January 31–February 3 at the Aiken Center for the Arts, 122 Laurens Street SW. The show offers a unique opportunity to view and purchase fine antique furnishings presented by 22 specialized dealers from across the nation, while supporting the center’s fine arts activities and programs. Aiken has served as the winter home for some of America’s greatest collectors of the Twentieth Century — names like Vanderbilt, Whitney and Hitchcock.

The preview party, which allows attendees to preview and purchase items in advance of the show, will take place at the Aiken Center on Thursday, January 31, from 7 to 9 pm. Tickets to the preview party are $50 each or $95 for two, and include a weekend show pass.

The antiques show is a fundraiser for the Aiken Center for the Arts, as the center celebrates its 35th anniversary promoting arts and education and cultural events. Current activities in the center include monthly exhibitions in the main floor galleries and ongoing art classes and lectures for adults and children, which are now held in the new second-floor classrooms and the performance pavilion.

General admission is $8 for the three-day weekend. Show hours are Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm; and Sunday, noon to 5 pm.
