United Way To Distribute
 Emergency Food And Shelter Funds
DANBURY ââ The Northern Fairfield County area of Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield, Newtown, New Fairfield, Redding, and Ridgefield has been awarded $49,982 in federal funds, under the emergency food and shelter national board program to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the area.
A local board from the United Way of Northern Fairfield County will determine how the Federal Emergency Food and Shelter Grant funds are to be distributed among programs in the area. Organizations chosen to receive funds must be nonprofit, have an accounting system and conduct an annual audit, practice nondiscrimination, have demonstrated the ability to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs, and if a private, voluntary organization, must have a voluntary board.
