Police, DMV Find Vehicle Violations
On December 22, Newtown police, working with state Department of Motor Vehicle inspectors, conducted vehicle safety inspections in town, finding 104 motor vehicle violations, police said.
Police issued $1,182 in fines to drivers for various violations. The project focused on automotive equipment violations.
Among the enforcement action, police issued 51 equipment warnings, five infraction tickets, and one misdemeanor summons.
The violations included failure to wear seatbelts, driving without a license, driving with an expired license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle with an expired registration, and driving without automotive insurance.
