Help Feed The Fowl
To the Editor:
On feeding the ducks at Ram Pasture. First, I live just down the road from the pond. It has just been the past few years that it became a dumping ground for poor domestic ducks and geese, or should I say a feeding place for coyotes and foxes.
These ducks need shelter. I feed them during the big snowstorms. My daughter and I go in the middle of the snow, sleet, rain, and wind and feed these poor domestic ducks and geese. There are no wild geese or ducks around. That is why these ducks are sick, cold. When the pond freezes the ducks have no escape, and this is when the coyotes come in.
I go through 100-pound bags per week of corn; I do feed them other than storms. These ducks look nice but they should be where they have shelter. Every animal needs to get out of the wind, sleet, and snow. Therefore, at our next big storm go down to Ram Pasture and feed the ducks and geese.
