DUI Charge
Police said motorist Brian St Pierre, 30, of Danbury, who was driving northward on South Main Street at about 12:01 am January 1, was seen traveling across the roadâs center line.
Police said they stopped St Pierre and investigated, charging him with driving under the influence and failure to drive to the right.
After processing his arrest, police released St Pierre on a $50 bond for a January 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Bank Check
A check that was issued by the Newtown Saving Bank was found at Booth Library at 25 Main Street on January 2, police report. The checkâs owner may claim it at the police station by contacting Sergeant Darlene Froehlich, telephone 426-5841.
Vandalism
Police report that sometime between 5 pm on December 18 and 8 am on December 19, someone broke two antique-style streetlights positioned outside Booth Library at 25 Main Street. Anyone with information about the vandal is asked to contact police.
Breach Of Peace
At about 8 pm on January 3, Joann M. Haines, 53, of 40 Echo Valley Road was a spectator at a basketball game at Newtown High School, police said. Haines shoved another woman spectator from behind, resulting in a charge of breach of peace against Haines, police said. Haines was released on a promise to appear January 21 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charge.
Warrant Served
Police said they spotted Justin Harding, 19, of 33 Elm Drive in the parking lot of Newtown Convenience Store at 22 Church Hill Road on the night of January 3 and realized that they held a warrant for his arrest.
Police charged Harding with failure to respond to an infraction and with simple trespassing. The trespassing charge stems from a past incident.
After posting a $77 bond, police released Harding for a January 15 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.
Marijuana
Police report that on the evening of January 1, an off-duty police officer spotted Morris Edmonds, 33, of Waterbury smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette in the commercial parking lot at 6 Queen Street.
Edmonds then drove away from the parking lot onto Church Hill Road and violated traffic laws, police said. Police said they stopped Edmonds and investigated, charging him with failure to obey a state traffic commission sign/signal and with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana.
Police released Edmonds on a promise to appear January 15 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.

Dodge Into Curb
Motorist Amanda Renzulli, 17, of Bethel, who was driving a 1996 Dodge Neon eastward on Plumtrees Road about noon December 29, stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Plumtrees Road, Taunton Hill Road, and Great Hill Road, police said. After proceeding through the intersection, the Dodge struck a curb along the eastbound road shoulder of Great Hill Road, police said. Renzulli was not injured. Police issued her a written warning for making a restricted turn.
Lexus Into Tree
Motorist George Lopez, 35, of 121 Alberts Hill Road was driving a 1998 Lexus GS-4 sedan northward on Alberts Hill Road on December 30, when he lost control of the auto on the wet road and struck a tree along the northbound road shoulder, near 12 Alberts Hill Road, police said.
Lopez was not injured in the accident, police said. Police issued Lopez a written warning stating he was traveling too fast for conditions.
Church Hill Rear-Ender
Motorist Jolynn Low, 42, of 56 Riverside Road, who was driving a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer eastward on Church Hill Road at about 3:50 pm December 29, slowed to make a left turn into the Shell gas station at 67 Church Hill Road, police said.
Motorist Jessica Snow, 20, of 2 River Edge Drive, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Maxima behind the Chevrolet, applied the brakes, but the Nissan hit the rear end of the Chevrolet, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Low to Danbury Hospital on a report of head and neck pain, police said. Police issued Snow a written warning for failure to drive a reasonable distance apart.

Pedestrian
Police report an accident involving an automobile and a pedestrian about 3:17 pm December 31 near 6 High Rock Road.
Motorist James M. Morlath, 17, of 18 Sand Hill Road was driving a 2002 Honda Civic sedan northward on High Rock Road, while pedestrian Joyce Webster, 74, of 6 High Rock Road was standing on the northbound road shoulder, police said.
Webster then inadvertently stepped out onto the road and was struck by the Honda, police said.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Webster to Danbury Hospital for treatment of head and leg injuries, police said. The accident is under investigation.
Church Lot
Motorist Sanford Eddy, 57, of Leonardo, N.J., who was driving a 1996 Honda Civic, left the vehicle parked in the St Rose Church parking lot on Church Hill Road while attending a mass on Christmas Eve, police said. When he returned, Eddy found that the right side of the auto had been damaged. Police are investigating.
Buttonball Mishap
Motorist Trisha Johnson, 22, of 26 Buttonball Drive, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus westward on that street about 8:16 am January 2, when she lost control of the auto on the snowy road and slid into curbing along the right road shoulder, resulting in a tire falling off the auto, police said.
Johnson was not injured in the mishap.
South Main Collision
Motorist Rudolph Pozek, 68, of 105 Poverty Hollow Road was driving a 1999 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck northward on South Main Street at about 2 pm December 26, as motorist Stephen Krafcsik, 40, of 51 Pecks Lane, who was driving a 2003 Hyundai Elantra, was attempting to exit Rickyâs Shopping Plaza, police said.
The Hyundai pulled out onto South Main Street and collided with the Toyota, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Krafcsik a written warning for failure to grant the right of way.
Warrant
Police report they served a warrant against Robert Pixley, 22, of 48 Bear Hills Road on January 4, listing one count of second degree failure to appear in court and one count of driving under suspension. The motor vehicle charge stems from a September incident. Police said they released Pixley on a $250 bond for a January 20 court appearance.
Sandy Hook DUI
Motorist Richard E. Sanders, 29, of Danbury was driving a 1987 Subaru DL sedan westward on Route 34, near Great Ring Road, on the night of January 1, when the auto struck a tree along the eastbound road shoulder, police said.
Sanders then drove the vehicle about one-half mile westward to the area near Tanglewood Lane, where the auto became disabled, police said. Sanders was not injured in the accident, police said.
Police said they went to the area to investigate and charged Sanders with driving under the influence, driving under suspension, and failure to drive to the right. Police additionally arrested Sanders on three drug-related charges ââ possession of narcotics, failure to keep narcotics in their original container, and tampering with evidence.
Because Sanders could not post a $5,000 bond, police held him overnight for arraignment the following day in Danbury Superior Court.
Flag Found
On January 2, a United States flag was found at Beckett Village, which is a residential subdivision off Bennetts Bridge Road in Sandy Hook. The owner may claim the flag at the police station at 3 Main Street.
Toddy Hill Accident
Motorist Jessica Carlson, 19, of Terryville was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Cavalier southward on Toddy Hill Road about 10:30 pm December 24, when she failed to negotiate a curve, went off the road, and struck a tree, police said. Botsford firefighters went to the accident.
The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps went to the accident to evaluate Carlsonâs condition but made no patient transport, police said.
Police said they verbally warned Carlson for making a restricted turn.
Warrant
Kevin Miller, 23, of 21 Indian Hill Lane turned himself over to police on January 5 after learning that they held a warrant for his arrest.
Police said they charged Miller with second degree threatening in connection with an October 31 incident near Dunkinâ Donuts at Newtown Shopping Village on Queen Street in which Miller allegedly threatened a youth.
Police released Miller on a promise to appear January 15 in Danbury Superior Court.
MV Charges
Police report that while on patrol on Mile Hill Road about 11 am January 6, they saw the improper display of a marker plate on a vehicle driven by David Eisenbach, 36, of 11 Johnny Appleseed Drive, so they made a motor vehicle records check.
Police then charged Eisenbach with misuse of marker plates, driving an unregistered vehicle, and failure to have automotive insurance.
Police released Eisenbach on an $80 bond for a January 22 court appearance.
Drug Charges
Police report that they were called to Newtown Shopping Village at 6 Queen Street on the evening of January 5, after a youth was seen there in possession of an illegal substance. Police said they investigated the complaint and charged Brandon Ballard, 18, of 40 Tunnel Road with possession of less than four ounces of marijuana and with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police said they released Ballard on a promise to appear January 28 in Danbury Superior Court to answer the charges.
Tractor-Trailer Mishap
Tractor-trailer trucker Charles Hall, 59, of Fargo, N.D., who was driving a 2001 Peterbilt truck, pulled into a parking lot at 81 South Main Street in order to turn around at about 9:45 am January 5, police said.
While leaving the driveway at that address, the truck snagged low-hanging overhead utility lines and pulled them down, police said. There were no injuries.
South Main Collision
Motorist Donna Arnold, 36, of 8 Hawthorne Hill Road, who was driving a 1999 Nissan Maxima southward on South Main Street at about 2:10 pm January 6, slowed to make a left turn into Rickyâs Shopping Plaza, police said.
Southbound motorist Brian Fulton, 27, of New Milford, who was driving a 1999 Sterling truck, attempted to pass the Nissan on the right, but collided with it, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Fulton a written warning for passing on the right.
South Main Crash
Police report a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of South Main Street and Prospect Drive about 1:55 pm January 5.
Motorist James Tani, 30, of 11 Bungalow Terrace, who was driving a town-owned 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, was stopped on southbound South Main Street and was waiting to make a left turn, when the truck was struck from behind by southbound motorist Jon Moore, 62, of 23 Boggs Hill Road, who was driving a 1991 Ford Explorer, police said.
Moore received a bump on the chest, but refused medical attention, police said. Police issued Moore a written warning for following too closely.
Sugar Street Accident
Police report a accident near 32 Sugar Street about 8:46 am January 7.
Motorist Alice Baye, 45, of 3 Cedar Circle, who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer westward, was preparing to turn right into a driveway, but westbound motorist Andrew Deleo, 39, of Southbury, who was driving a 1996 Subaru Outback, thought the Chevrolet was preparing to turn left, police said.
The Subaru then attempted to pass the Chevrolet on the right and the two vehicles collided, police said. There were no injuries. Police issued Deleo an infraction ticket for passing on the right.
