Our beloved Patricia “Patti” Ann Lynn Fogelstrom, age 65, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. After a courageous 25-year battle with Polycythemia Vera and Myelofibrosis, Patti’s strength, faith, and vibrant spirit remained an inspiration to all who knew her.

Born on June 19, 1959, in Roslyn, New York, Patricia was the cherished daughter of Norman Jr and Carol (Urcan) Foggan. From an early age, she exemplified kindness, joy, and a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and valued. Even during her most challenging days, Patti lived life to the fullest, greeting the world with a smile or a compliment for strangers and friends alike. Regardless of how she was feeling, Patti would always get up, get dressed and put her makeup on with the intention of having a good day.

Patti’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was the loving wife of Bruce Fogelstrom for over 38 years, a devoted mother to Bryan and Christie, and grandmother to granddaughters Everly and Story. Patti was truly meant to be a mom and poured her heart into creating a warm, comforting and loving home for her children. She also treasured her extended family and close friends, including Eileen and Doug Frattaroli, Barbara and Chris Bunici, June and Tim Frost, Lynn Schibelli, Doreen Murdoch, Lynn Atkinson, Valerie Palmeri, the Paproski family, Veronica and Phillip Buzzanca, and many others who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Patti found happiness in the simplest pleasures of life — gardening, spending time with her loved ones, indulging in her favorite “trash TV” and going out to lunch. She was known for her honesty, compassion, humor, and bravery, qualities that shone through even during her long battle with illness. Her generosity and selflessness touched everyone she met, from friends and neighbors to strangers who were lucky enough to cross her path.

Patricia was predeceased by her parents, Norman Jr and Carol; her brother, Norman III; her in-laws, Willo and Arnold; and the many beloved fur-babies she cherished throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her children, Bryan and Christie; her granddaughters, Everly and Story; her siblings, Debbie and Dean; and her faithful pets, Lola, Benny, Simon and Reilly.

Visitation will be at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown on Sunday, January 12, from 1 to 4 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, January 13, at 10 am, at St Mary’s Church in Bethel.

The family kindly requests that donations be made in Patti’s honor to the MPN Research Foundation (mpnresearchfoundation.org/donate-to-mpn-research/#)

Patti’s legacy of love, kindness and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will forever be remembered as “Miss Patti,” a beacon of joy and light to young and old alike.
