Newtown Swim Team Tops Bethel, Falls To Brookfield

The Newtown High School boys’ swimming and diving team ended the calendar year 2009 with a 92-78 win over Bethel in Danbury on December 29 then fell 104-80 to Brookfield at home on January 5.

The Nighthawks are 4-1 heading into a January 12 meet at Oxford — the first of three straight meets away from home.

Newtown’s first- and second-place results from the Bethel meet are as follows:
