Mary Gover, a junior at Connecticut College in New London, was recently inducted into the Connecticut College chapter of Psi Chi, the National Honor Society of Psychology. Gover, a 2007 graduate of Immaculate High School, is the daughter of Donald and Linda Gover. Psi Chi was founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating and maintaining excellence in scholarship, and advancing the science of psychology.

Conor J. Deveney, a member of the Class of 2011 at Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass, has been named to the honor roll at the academy for the fall term. To be named to the honor roll, students must maintain at least a 5-point grade average on a 6-point scale.

Charlie LoBosco, a freshman at Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y., was named on the college’s Dean’s List for the first semester at the school.

Choate Rosemary Hall, an independent secondary school in Wallingford, named Austin Hubbert of Newtown and Emma Iannini of Sandy Hook to the Dean’s List for the fall term of 2009.

Newtown and Sandy Hook residents were among the Upper School and Middle School students who received academic honors for the fall trimester 2009 at Chase Collegiate School in Waterbury. Faculty Honors is the highest academic honor reserved for students earning a 92 or above; High Honor students have earned an 88 or above; and Honor students have earned an 85 or above.

In the Upper School, grades nine through twelve, twelfth grader Brian Grimes of Sandy Hook received Faculty Honors. High Honors were awarded to twelfth graders Susan Mason of Sandy Hook, and John Moller, eleventh grader Kevin Dill, tenth graders Quincy DeYoung and Elizabeth Grimes of Sandy Hook, and ninth graders Rajeshri Basu and Taylor Brady. Middle school students, grades six through eight, who received Faculty Honors were eighth grader Adam Harrison and seventh graders Nathaniel Dowd and William Montgomery. High Honors were awarded to seventh grader Samantha Westberg and sixth grader Grant Varnum . Earning Honors were seventh grader Meghan Grimes of Sandy Hook and sixth grader Timothy LeBlanc.
