Elfriede P. Kugler, 79, of Bethel, died December 29, at Danbury Hospital. She was the loving wife of Ernst Kugler for 54 years. She was born April 22, 1930, in Stuttgart, Germany, daughter of Rosa and Wilhelm Scheu.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Rudi Kugler and his wife, Karen, and Gary Kugler and his wife, Carrie, all of Newtown; daughter, Sue Manzo and her husband, Rick, of Marietta, Ga.; a sister; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She came to the United States in 1955 and was a Bethel resident for more than 50 years. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danbury, the Arion Singing Society, and enjoyed many hours at the Bethel Senior Center. She was a friend to many and will be deeply missed by all.
