Book Drive To Benefit Ugandan Schools
Book Drive To Benefit Ugandan Schools
The Newtown High School student-driven effort through Invisible Children, a national nonprofit organization, to support a school in Uganda will be holding a book drive in the St Rose of Lima Church parking lot, on Church Hill Road, on January 9 from 10 am until 3 pm.
Residents are invited by the NHS group to drop off new and used books as donations to the sister school. This week the group said the book drive effort will enhance the education of children effected by the ongoing war in Uganda.
The Invisible Children organization raises money and awareness to reverse the hardship long lasting war in Uganda has had on the area. Partnered with sister schools in Uganda, schools in the United States raise money and collections for the effort.
