Charter Collecting DVDs For Troops
Charter Collecting DVDs For Troops
Charter Communications Local Access Channel CTV 21 is collecting DVDs for donating to US troops. In order to reach a goal of collecting 1,000 DVDs, Charter is reaching out to its employees and customers as well as the community at large to help reach this yearâs goal.
DVDs of any kind, case or no case, new or used, are being collecting at Charterâs customer sales and service center located at 9 Commerce Road in Newtown. Donors can also get in touch with the staff of CTV-21 at 203-304-4050 to arrange a drop-off or request a pickup.Â
âThe time soldiers spend âin countryâ waiting to be deployed or resting from a deployment can be a lonely and stressful time,â said Greg Garabedian, vice president and general manager for Charter in New England. âBy supplying our troops with DVDs, our soldiers are not only entertained, but reminded that the folks back home appreciate their dedication and commitment serving overseas, keeping us free and protecting us from harms way.â
The campaign concludes on January 15, and has already seen an outpouring of generosity from local residents. Almost 500 DVDs had been donated by January 4.
âWe are grateful for the support thus far and feel confident that the community will come together in the final weeks and exceed our 1,000 DVD goal,â added Mr Garabedian.
