Arthur E. Potz

A Generous Family Man

Arthur E. Potz, 67, formerly of Wethersfield, Monroe, and Newtown, died December 15, in Zephyrhills, Fla. He was born in Hartford, May 19, 1943.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Keven Ann, of Zephyrhills; daughter, Audra; stepsons Jason and Christian Barsi; daughter-in-law Ginny; two grandsons; a brother Kenneth Potz; and several other relatives. His parents, Arthur Charles and Helen Potz, and Irene Jurgelas Potz, predeceased him.

Mr Potz was an infantry expert in the Army Reserves. Later in Monroe, he served as chairman of the audit committee for the Board of Finance and sat on the Board of Education.

He owned East Pasco Interiors, a home business in Florida, for 18 years. Prior to moving to Florida, he was vice president of finance and controller for Babcock Industries, Inc, in Fairfield.

His passions included golf and sports, travel, finance, history, and fishing in Leadville, Colo. His sense of humor was a gift that touched those who knew him well.

Interment will be held May 19, 2011, at Mt Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
