Party Chairman Jepson And Lt Gov Sullivan To Speak In Newtown

The Newtown Democratic Town Committee will host Connecticut Lieutenant Governor Kevin Sullivan and state Democratic Party Chairman George Jepson at its monthly meeting on January 13 at 8 pm in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

Previously serving as President Pro Tempore of the Connecticut State Senate, Mr Sullivan was elevated to his current position upon the resignation of former governor John Rowland in the face of corruption charges last year.

Party members credit Mr Jepson with restoring the state political organization’s integrity and financial health. He was the Democratic Party’s choice for lieutenant governor in 2002 after serving as majority leader in the State Senate.

The meeting is open to the public.
