Newtown Rotary Inducts Four New Members
Newtown Rotary President Larry Nkabinde inducted four new members at the organizationâs last regular meeting of 2004. Each of the new members is strongly connected with either the town or the state.
Karen King is a teacher at Reed Intermediate School, an advisor at the Rotary-sponsored Interact Club, the driving force behind the âPencils for Peaceâ program and a Rotary Paul Harris Award recipient in June of 2004. She was sponsored by Rotarian Brian Amey.
Mary Maloney is principal of St Rose School and a strong supporter of Rotaryâs Student of the Month Program. Her sponsor was Rotarian Larry Gardner.
Carolyn Signorelli, assistant attorney general, State of Connecticut, was sponsored by Rotarian Julia Wasserman, state representative.
John Trentacosta, president of Newtown Savings Bank, is a longtime supporter of Newtown community projects and was sponsored by Rotarian Mike Snyder.
This raises the compliment of the Newtown Rotary Club to more 50 members and will enable the club to take on the many projects it plans to conduct to help make this a better world. Newtown Rotary is a community fellowship group composed of business and professional men and women dedicated to local, regional, and international service. The organization meets Mondays at 6:15 pm at the Fireside Inn.
