Through Jan 9: “Creating St Peter’s: Architectural Treasures of The Vatican,” exhibit of treasures from the Vatican includes Michelangelo’s 16-foot tall hand crafted study model for the dome of St Peter’s Basilica, also 140+ related items incl a scale model of “old St Peter’s (the ancient basilica that predated the current church), the 18th Century model used to plan the illumination of the façade, 17th Century engravings, papal portraits, a 16th Century compass believed to have been used by Michelangelo, winches used to raise the massive obelisk that still stands in front of St Peters & more, many never before shown in public.
