All behavior is purposeful. No family member operates in a vacuum. The behavior of one person impacts every family member, but often in different ways and with different consequences.

The next Parent Connection forum on Wednesday, January 19, at 7 pm, in the Newtown Middle School auditorium will focus on the family as a mobile swinging over a baby’s crib. A mobile is most eye-catching when it is moving, rather than still. Families are the same way, according to licensed marriage and family therapist Wendy H. Davenson, the guest speaker at the January 19 forum.

Ms Davenson is also a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. In addition, she is certified as a school guidance counselor and has a private therapy practice in Newtown. She is also certified as a grief therapist and is the author of Grief and Growth, which was published in 2004. And she is a parent.
