Carolyn Anne âCarrieâ Packer, 25, of Madison, Wisc., formerly of Southbury and Asheville, N.C., died unexpectedly November 29.
Carolyn was born May 30, 1979, at Danbury Hospital. She was the beloved daughter of Barbara Packer of Woodbury, formerly of Newtown, and Peter Packer of Elkhorn, Wisc.
Carolyn was a talented singer and songwriter who also loved acting and choreography. She was a voracious reader and an excellent writer. A vegetarian and environmentalist, Carolyn was a naturalist who fought for animal rights. She had her own e-commerce business.
Carolyn obtained an associateâs degree from Asheville-Buncombe County Technical Community College in Ashville, N.C. She had attended Pomperaug High School in Southbury, Elkhorn High School in Wisconsin, and The Gunnery in Washington.
In addition to her parents Carolyn also leaves her sisters, Dana and Katherine Packer; her stepbrothers, Benjamin and Dennis Morgan, and David and Chris Olofsson; her maternal grandmother, Ruth Gechtman; her paternal stepgrandmother, Nancy Richardson; her stepfather, Kjell Olofsson; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was the grandchild of the late Katherine and Harry Courtney, Al Shore Packer, and Nathan Gechtman.
A memorial service was held on December 18 at Unitarian Universalist Church of the Lakes in Elkhorn, Wisc. The family will also hold a memorial service in Connecticut in late spring or summer.
She will be lovingly missed and remembered by all.
