NSB Hires And Promotes

Newtown Saving Bank has announced the addition of two new staff members.

Lynndel M. Bartulis joined the bank as vice president/IT. She is responsible for all phases of the bank’s technology including the LAN and WAN, working with FiServ and coordinating other outside technical vendors. During the past 20 years in the banking industry, she has developed experience in strategic planning for technology.

Alea Witt joined the bank as assistant treasurer/branch manager of the Stony Hill office. She most recently worked for First Union and holds her Series 6, 63, 26 and fixed and variable annuities licenses.

Recent promotions at Newtown Savings Bank include:

Margaret Powers was promoted to senior vice president. Ms Powers started her career in the branches and then moved over to the lending side. During that time, she has helped the department grow to what it is today. She has developed the systems and procedures for operating in the secondary loan market. She has been instrumental in expanding the construction business, making the bank one of the strongest, most recognized lenders in the market. She has improved our systems supporting mortgage lending, consumer lending and assisted in integrating the commercial business into the department’s support system. Ms Powers has been instrumental in the development of new products including home equity lines and loans, new mortgage and consumer loan products and construction lines of credit.

Leonard Volpe has been promoted to senior vice president. Mr Volpe has developed a new line of lending products for the bank. He developed the commercial loan policies and procedures and a staff to operate the business. He then set out to build a reputation for the bank in the C&I business.

Monica Pitruzzello has been promoted to vice president. She has brought the loan servicing department to a new level, streamlined servicing to customers; installed servicing procedures for the secondary market and revised the escrow payment system.

Carol Streaman was made assistant treasurer. Ms Streaman has an excellent understanding of the IRA rules and regulations. She has successfully kept up with the many IRS regulations and administrative nuances related to customers’ needs.
