For ‘Sinner’

NEW MILFORD — TheatreWorks New Milford is looking for seven actors for its upcoming production of the drama Never The Sinner, by John Logan.

Based on the notorious 1924 murder trial of “thrill killers” Leopold and Loeb, once referred to as the “crime of the century,” the swiftly paced and incisive drama was a smash hit in its off-Broadway, award winning run in 1998.

Richard Pettibone will direct a cast of seven – one woman (20s to 30s), two men (ages 18 to 20, to play Leopold and Loeb), one man (50s to 60s, to play Clarence Darrow), and three men (30s and older). Auditioners will read scenes from  the play.

The auditions will be held at TheatreWorks from 7 to 9 pm on Monday, January 31, and Tuesday, February 1. All roles are available.

Rehearsals are scheduled to begin in mid-February and the show runs weekends, March 24 through April 15. For more information call the director, Mr Pettibone, at 746-4937. The theatre is at 5 Brookside Avenue, immediately off Route 202.
